Look what I found!!

Okay, so I was mindlessly searching the internet when I found this: http://www.americangirl.com/corp/corporate.php?section=news&id=7

Now read it before you read on...

Interesting huh? Look at the phrase in the second paragraph
"When you buy an american girl doll, you always get a book with it. In fact, we never sell a doll without a book"

Now that was 2008. It's quite saddening to see how things have changed. "dolls always come with a book" To the MAG dolls that don't fit that standard. Just interesting.

The perfect idea!

So, I've been on the fence about whether I should plan on wanting #61. She's gorgeous, but why would I need her? Then, I thought of something. So, I've now decided that someday, I will get #61 and name her after a character in the book The giver (which I haven't actually managed to read it all the way through yet) named Fiona. I just feel like that would be the perfect name for her.

Then there's also Caroline. I've been on the fence about if I wanted Caroline or not for a year or two now. I finally came up with a solution! Someday, I will buy Caroline BUT she will become a modern girl named Willow, since she looks just like one of my friends I used to have named Willow.

Now when I would actually get these dolls is unclear. In the next 2-3 years maybe. I will get them eventually though, and I just love their characters. Willow will be my only renamed historical doll, so that'll be cool. Overall, I'm looking forward to the next 2-3 years.

What I got at the american girl place!!

Yesterday I went to AGP Kansas city! Even though I was only there for a short time, I was still able to buy some stuff!

I admit, I totally went off the plan. When I saw kaya's bedroll and shield, it just did notlook goog in person. I did however pick up kaya's foods, which is an awesome set! Cheaper, and came with me re stuff.

The next thing I got were the fancy boots. These are sold out online,  so I knew I had to get them I even had kind of wanted them w/Marie grace before they sold out. Don't worry though, the Kansas city store had at least 20 if not more boxes of these boots.

The final thing I got was Addy's quilt. I was looking for an item that was under $24 and I never knew they sold Addy's quilt separately. (But on the website you can't buy the quilt separate?) Either way, I am so glad I got it. I kind of which I had remembered Julie's roller skates and got those instead, but on well.

Actually, I did get one more thing and that was the new adorable accents. Now they're $10 instead of 8 and come with a hairstyle card.

That's all I got! I'll do a video when I get back home. I do have footage, but I won't be posting it (later you'll see why)

Unique 18 in. doll items that have yet to be made

Now, American girl dolls and other 18 in. dolls have plenty of cool stuff. Julie's car, a scooter, Lanie's camper just to name a few. But here are some things that haven't been made yet. Get working on it Mattel!

Double 18 in. doll sized bikes
Doll sized faris wheel
An actual american girl brand house that doesn't cost $300
A doll sized sky scraper
A doll park, where girls can play with their dolls of all sizes
Doll sized playground

Those are just a few ideas. Now, let's take a look at how doll items have come along in the past...

We have never had an official American girl dollhouse. In fact, 18 in. dollhouses are hard to get and expensive to. Here are some examples of "dollhouses"

Dollhouses offered by AG
Winter chalet
Caroline's parlor

18 in. Doll campers
$60 OG camper at Target
Lanie's camper $300 retired. (yep, it was a thing)

We've had several bikes offered by AG and OG in the past few years
The current AG bike $100
The AG bike from like 2001
The OG bike for $50
Julie's bike

And of course we have the unique pieces that AG and other brands have offered
Kit's treehouse
Samantha's horse drawn carriage
Julie's locker

As you can see, doll furniture has come a long way in recent years... but we're still missing a few things.
