Meet my custom Polly pocket: Dana!

So a few days ago I created a custom Polly pocket doll. I meant to just cut her hair a tiny bit shorter, but then I cut it wrong. Her hair was all straight except for this one section with a huge chunk out of it. (That's why I'm not a stylist) So I decided to just give her a pixie cut, at least he best I could do. Also note I already made a video about this, I just decided to release some photos for anyone who wants a reference for their own custom.

BTW: Her name is Dana and she's an old mermaid Polly pocket. I do advise that if you're young and want a custom doll get your parents to help you.

Here's Dana from the front. Sorry for the terrible focus.

Here's her hair from the back. It really doesn't get shorter than that.

Ever after high Poppy O'Hair review

So as most of you know on Saturday I went to Toysrus and got poppy and holly O'Hair!!! I have decided to split the review into 2 parts since each doll is really her own person. Today we are going to start with my personal favorite poppy O'Hair!!

Ever After High Poppy O'hair

Close up with headband

Blurry close up without headband.
(sorry for blurrieness)
Let me just say I LOVED poppy from my first impressions of her online. She's edgy, but still cute. Also some things to note: Poppy's hair comes MEGA GELLED like, so much gel that I recommend as soon as you have a chance put her hair in extremely hot/boiling water for a minute or so. Most of the gel should come out and her hair will be SO MUCH BETTER. Secondly, her headband is quite good at staying on (at least for a display) without the rubber band. As you may have also noticed I have removed her "scarf"; this was for 2 reasons a) In my opinion it looked HIDEOUS b) prevented half the dress from being seen!

Now, onto accessories.

Poppy O'hair's purse

Purse as seen from Afar
Poppy's purse is by far the cutest accessory in this 2 pack. It's a simple black purse but you can ACTUALLY use it!!! The purse also comes with 3 styling tools, since Poppy is a hair dresser. A tiny purple comb, a teeny pair of silver scissors. and an even tiny teeny weeny-er pink hair clip. Note the hair clip/scissors don't actually work, but you could use the comb if you were desperate.

Here are some close ups of the accessories:

The styling bag with all the accessories inside.

I tried to use a ruler to put into proportion how tiny these things are.

Attempting to show you how the bag has a pocket with 3 slots,
one for each styling tool.
Besides this bag Poppy has no other accessories except her brush, stand (brush and stand are both silver since she is a rebel) & story booklet. One of the girls brushes (can't remember whose it was) comes on the front of the package while the other is packaged with the stand. Either way you sill get 2 brushes.

Now, onto the doll.

Here are the closeups from earlier:

Poppy has BEAUTIFUL red/ginger hair that is cut in a nice short bob. Once you put it in how water and get the gel out it's SUPER SOFT and wonderful to play with. A section of her hair is also purple which I think adds the perfect touch to like everything!!!

Poppy also has a very unique feature. Her earring cuff makes it so she must have 2 piercings. I know this is the first EAH doll to have this done, but not the first doll ever, since Clawdeen always has like at least 3 ear piercings.

Holly's super cute Ear cuff.

Her 2 ear piercings. I was surprised because I thought she
would be like Operetta, where they do 1 piercing for her mask.

Her other earring is just a simple pair of scissors.

Here I tried my hardest to get both earrings into focus,
but the camera was just not having it.
Holly also comes wearing this adorable headband. I honestly think this headband ties the outfit together perfectly, though if you have tight shelving it might be a problem there.

Holly's up close once again with the headband.

The headband from the top.
Oh and before we go on let's talk about Poppy's bracelet. Poppy has one bracelet and no other jewelry besides her earrings. THANK GOODNESS for no rings! I hate having to keep up with itty bitty teeny tiny rings (that really don't add any play value). Poppy's bracelet for some reason was nearly glued onto her wrist. I had to pull it off and it left marks on her arms, just be careful of that:

Now, onto her outfit! Poppy's outfit is so cute and totally reflects who she is.
Poppy's dress from the front. It just looks SO CUTE!! Especially without
that hideous "scarf" on.

Here's he routfit form the back.

Here's the belt on her outfit  up close. Again, another
moment where the camera wouldn't cooperate.

Here's the dress standing alone from the front. It's made like
your average EAH/MH dress.

Here's the dress standing alone from the back.
Now, for her AWESOME PANTS!

Poppy's pants from the side. They have very nice sheer detail.

Poppy's pants from the front.

and her pants form the back.

Here are her pants on their own.
I love her pants, plus I'm glad she doesn't have another pair of fishnets like EVERY SINGLE OTHER EAH DOLL. (Sorry, that just really annoys me)

Now onto shoes& final touches...

Here's Poppy's boots from one angle.

Here's the back- ish of the shoe.

and here's what the shoes look like from the front & back.
Poppy's shoes are quite well done. They aren't my favorite, but I certainly like them. Notice also that the heels have scissors on them; they almost remind me of MH Ghoulia's original shoes.

Before I finish, let me just say that there is a piece of paper around her waist underneath her dress, similar to Hat tastic Cerise's (link) plastic dress. I would advise not removing this as it's probably to make sure her body doesn't turn black from the dress.

That's pretty much it! Overall I give Poppy a 5/5. If you read her story it's so interesting, but I won't risk talking about it for fear of spoilers.

Holly's review will be up soon, whenever I get more time.

Finding Twyla clothes

So I recently watched Mommy&Gracie show's review of the Scaremester dolls. BTW you guys AWESOME review. But in that review Mommy claimed that she didn't like how all the clothes twyla wears make her look like she doesn't have a neck. I thought this was an interesting claim, as I had never really noticed it. But today as I was thinking about what Mommy said, I got an idea. So Mommy, here is 13 wishes Twyla (sorry, she's the only twyla I have) dressed in 13 wishes Howleen's outfit...

Now the reason for doing this was that all the other MH clothes either looked ugly on Twyla or just didn't fit her really well, since she has that smaller body mold. I also liked the dress because it shows the neck very well. Then I explored my options a little bit more...

Creepateria Howleen In Briar's EAH basic outfit.
(sorry for the nude Cerise in the background)

C.A. Cupid in AG Mini Marie Grace's dress.
This dress fits almost perfectly with the EAH dolls.

Picture day Frankie in Cerise's basic outfit.

Dead tired Abbey in 13 wishes Lagoona's outfit.
I was trying to go for an Elsa theme here...

And Finally, Creepateria Howleen in C.A. Cupid's basic outfit.
I think this looks SUPER CUTE on Howleen.
So there you go, Twyla would certainly look better with more neck.

Marie Grace- Grace comparison

So, lots of people say Grace looks like Chrissa and Mckenna. Now I can't believe they forgot the blue eyes-freckles combo has been used on Lindsey, Saige AND Nicki. But everyone is avoiding the obvious, Marie Grace! So here's a comparison chart I made...
So yeah, they're both VERY similar, including the French thing. Now just a side not I did not make this to say that one doll is better than the other. They are both BEAUTIFUL dolls with beautiful stories. I was just interested in how similar they were. Also, if you can think of any more things to  put in here, let me know in the Comments!
