American Girl Caroline is retiring, what next?

For those of you that haven't seen already, American Girl announced yesterday on their Facebook page that Caroline Abbot is going to be retired this year. I feel that this is both a mistake and a blessing. It is nice, because the historical line was getting overwhelming with 3 blonde characters and no red head, but the fact that she's only been out for 3 years is sad, but becoming the norm. As for me personally, I do want Caroline but not at full price because she would be modern. The one outfit I want from her collection is her travel outfit, without the Spencer and hat. As for the future of the Beforever line (where characters will never be forever) we have no idea what is in store, besides the new 2015 Mary Ellen character and the new 2016 AA character. What do you think of this abrupt retiring?
